My new Kia has had a vibration/unbalance ride since delivery. I decided to replace the cheap Goodyear Assurance with Pirelli Scorpions of the same size. There is huge improvement in ride, handling and road noise. But the vibration has only been reduced, not eliminated. I had the tires re-balanced today and it is definitely a little better, but not gone. I can feel it at any speed, but once you hit 70 to 80 mph the vibration is like an out of balance tire but does not seem to be from any of particular location, but from the entire body. If you have ever driven a rear axle car with bad constant velocity joint , also know as CV joints, this is the closest I can come to describing it. Even my sisters Corolla drives perfectly smooth when the tires are properly balanced, This should certainly be the case with a new car with less than 300 miles on it!

This post looks like it is a year old, but just wondering if you found the root cause of the issue? Did the vibration only happen at a certain speed or at all speeds?

Just bought my new 2023 Kia Sportage EX and on the way home I noticed a vibration that felt like an unbalanced tire at around 80 MPH. Below that it is fine. Was just thinking the tire wasn’t completely balanced properly. Could also be wheel defect. If you found the root cause of your issue I would be interested in learning about it. Thanks.

I have the vibration problem on 2023 sportage phev. only issue is it does not vibrate in full electric mode. something vibrates when under engine power but not battery? any ideas?

Motor mounts......that would mean that the motor itself is creating the vibration? Have you seen / experienced this as the cause?

the car has been at dealer for 1 week. They acknowledge the problem but cant find the source of the vibration.
Only issues that are confirmed are no vibration in EV mode and appears worse when coasting at high speeds.
Any suggestions?

Our new Kia is shaking when braking at highway speeds. Been to dealership 4 times. They have turned all the rotors but still shakes. They are opening a technical report with Kia. Also been noticing a vibration around 78 mph

I know it's been a couple months but has anyone found a solution? My 2023 Kia Sportage SX Prestige has vibrated above 70mph since day one. The selling dealer roadforce balanced the tires twice and then said the vibration was normal. The next dealer put an axle in it and then said the vibration was normal. After I filed a lemon law complaint with Kia they sent me to another dealer. That dealership said the tires would not balance and filed a tire warranty claim but it's over 5 months and they haven't approved the warranty claim yet. The dealer keeps telling me they're waiting on Michelin. I'd really like to keep the vehicle but it's getting ridiculous.

My 23 X Line also does that

I have the same problem that starts 78 mph its a rumble at the steering wheel more than anything else, dealership has rotated tires, balanced tires no help. did you find anything that fixed the problem. Dealership twice, no help.

I'm sorry, no solution on my end. After I personally called the company that handles the tire warranty I was able to get the tires covered. I drove to dealer and told them exactly what the warranty guy said and the dealer said they'd get the tires ordered and they should be there in a couple days. We'll, that was over 4 weeks ago, so I just gave up and signed and returned the lemon law buyback paperwork. They should be taking it back within 60-90 days.

My 2023 Kia Sportage develops a rumble/vibration at steering wheel at 78 mph and gets worse at 82 mpg. It’s been to the dealership 3 times and after they have done visual inspections, balanced tires and tire rotation with no problems found. I did get a service advisor to drive the car at 80 mph and said there is definitely a problem . Since the speed limit in Florida is 70 mph the dealership won’t let their mechanics go over the speed limit. Now they want me to get new tires and see if the problem goes away. The speed limit in Texas is 85. Don’t understand why they won’t address the problem on my new car. Any thoughts?

My 2022 Sportage SX turbo has had the same issue since day one. My issue is the worst between 70-75 mph. The really strange part is with a full tank of gas it's barely there, but the lower the fuel level the worse the issue. I had the original tires balanced 3 times, then Michelin warrantied them out with a good pro-rate for new Crossclimate 2s. Then road force balanced those and still have the issue. It's not the tires and its not the balance and its not the weight of the fuel, because I've added extra weight to compensate for that. The only potential working theory the trusted guys at my local shop have is as the fuel level lowers, the empty tank starts to act like an acoustic guitar body and amplifies the sound and vibration of a slight drivetrain issue or something. Has anyone else experienced the issue difference based on the fuel level?

Nope, never heard back from the dealer and proceeded to let Kia buy it back. If Kia's escalation dept and dealer service depts. are this bad when it's under threat of a lemon law buyback can you imagine what it's going to be like later.

Have you sorted your problem? My car do the same.

My car also doing the same. Worse on higher speeds. Sometimes it appears it come from the ice engine. Has anyone sorted this?

Also here to say my 2023 Sportage does the same shaking when breaking between 45-60mph. Let me know when the class action suit is ready.
