I have a 6 month old 2026 Sprotage HEV SX Prestiage with 5000 miles on the odometer. In a 24 hour period I had several very strange things occur and I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experiences.



1. I was traveling between Phoenix and Tucson on a relatively warm day. My cabin temperature controls were set at 72 and set to auto. The air out of the vents was mildly cool and then all at once the vent had very hot air coming out. The temp control was still set at 72 and lowering the setting only resulted in slightly lower but still hot air. I recycled the A/C and it work normal form that point out.



2. The next day traveling around Tucson the GPS had me a couple hundred feet of the major street I was traveling. This confused the GPS and directions it was issuing. At the same time the clock showed a random AM time while it was mid afternoon. Maybe a CMS?



3. At the same time I experienced issues with the GPS and time issues, my left and right turn signal cameras showed a blank green screen on the dash for both left and right turns.



All of the issued cleared up on there own the very next time I started the car. It has been a week now and no further issues. I have an oil change coming up at the dealer this week but from previous experience with another KIA I know they will tell me there is nothing they can do without seeing it happen.

We have a 2012 which has lost the back drive, Only the front ones now turn.
the dealer said it’s the spline which we need to replace the transfer case and transmission. Since it’s a 2012 and 212km is it might worth it. So my second question is if we leave it as front wheel drive, how do we lock in both front wheels so they turn together. It seems that when we start on an ice patch, only one front wheel turns.

What can you tell me about regenerative brake settings for the hybrid 2026 SX Prestige? There are different choices of settings, one being auto, which I am now using

I have a Kia 2025 Prestige PHEV and am puzzled by an icon on the dash which I can't identify in either manual. This is a silhouette of the car for the low tire pressure. But instead of tires with pressures there are changing bars of purple. I cannot understand this icon or why the bars change and wonder if any other owner can explain it and what it does. It is in a prominent position over the four settings for drive modes, so I assume it must be important. Many thanks.

Hi, sorry if this has been covered previously. I’ve just taken delivery of Sportage 2026 1.6 gdi hev 235 BHP auto here in the UK.Online it says using my Kia Connect app I can start car and heat seats etc from mobile phone from house . However, I can’t fathom how to do it . On my app it just offers unlocking , locking and valet service??? I’ve been to dealership and have been told UK versions do not have the facility to start car etc . Is this correct or am I missing something?

The problem I have is the infotainment / HVAC control panel will switch on its own . Example the HVAC control when set to that screen will switch back and forth between driver only and Sync. If infotainment screen is the primary setting then the control will go back and forth from Nav to Map from radio or Apple CarPlay all by its self . Intermittent and does not do it all the time . Doesn’t do it for service . I have multiple videos. Usually last 1-5 minutes then it can be okay for a day or two. Then some days it a couple times.

December 24, 2025 driving 2024 Kia Sportage when it started bucking and literally engine quit in the middle of traffic. Put the vehicle park, tried to start and just cranked, would not start. Towed to dealership where they kept the car for 4 days trying to diagnose issue. Was not throwing any codes. The most tech found was blow ignition fuse, unknown why. Sent me on way. Fast forward to 1/10/2026, 19 days later, same issue.
Vehicle was acting strange while running errands, seemed to have difficulty shifting into next gear. As I was getting ready to enter a busy freeway, the Sportage bucked hard and engine stopped in the middle of entering the freeway. Police had to push vehicle out of traffic. Warning lights lit up - "Engine not on, put car in park and start".
Car was towed to a different Kia dealership and is currently being diagnosed. Anyone else experience this engine failure?

Hi guys, please can someone help me.

My 2017 kia sportage radio bluetooth connects to the phone loads all my contacts, but doesn't want to play music for my phone, yet when i got the car it did what could be the problem.

I've reset the radio deleted all devices even on my phone but atill the same problem.

So I have had Mazda's since 2004 (MPV,3, 6, 2 cx-5s currently with a 23 cx-5) Don't get me wrong I LOOOOVE my Mazda, they are fun to drive, I haven't had a stitch of issues with any since the MPV...However I'm bored with the same interior year after year nothing changes... its the same look... and their hybrid wont be out til '27. I've been eyeing the 26 SX HEV and it seems to have a ton of great tech. Reviews seem to be great! But I cannot go to the dealers with my quesetions bc they want to sell me their car so i'm not sure i'd get an honest answer. Hopefully real drivers here can be honest... And I live in Canada so owners here would be great too

does it drive as quiet as they say?
Is the HEV responsive, does in have any acceleration lag (step on the gas and nothing)
Any issues with the dash screens not working? are they covered under warranty if they go bad
I've read issues with the cars not starting in cold weather, bad gas mileage or is that just in the PHEV?
For those that have had their '26 for months.. reliability??? any issues that stand out?

My plan is to start shopping around once the '26 CX-5 hits the dealer and I check it out (i'd be remiss not too) but will look at the rav4, outback, Sportage, Maybe the Tuscon although seems like everyone here drives a Hyundai and I've heard the dealership here isn't great on service as soon as you leave. If it helps I live on the East coast in the Maritimes

Any Info would be greatly appreciated as It would be a huge step changing dealerships after all this time.

My 2023 PHEV no longer runs in only EV mode even in the EV/Smart and full charge. Within a minute of starting, in EV/Smart mode, the engine starts and will run about a minute or two, then EV only kicks in. I've watched the display on the dash and it indicates, during that time, the engine is charging the battery and the battery is driving the wheels. This recently started to occur. All summer the car ran as expected, since November this pattern described above began. Any suggestions to get me back to full time EV on short drives and full battery?

Hello everyone, i own a 2019 Sportage 1.6 Crdi 136hp non hybrid and the following problem occured. After an ecu update by the KIA dealership, the engine temp drops by about 20C, every time at full load, pulling from 3rd gear or higher from 2000 rpm. At city driving and mild acceleration the temp gauge looks normal just below the middle mark. I logged the parameters with an obd tool and it looks like at high engine load the ecu opens the thermostat and and the egr valve at the same time, resulting the coolant temperature to drop suddenly. No check engine light or anything else while driving. DPF regenerations seem normal. The dealership says that maybe it will be resolved with a new update in the future and to not worry about. Has it happened to anyone else? Is this considered to be normal thermal management behaviour?

I attach my obd log, which happens to be during a dpf regeneration, but the coolant temp and egr valve behaviour is like this regardless.

Now that we're heading into a new year, I am wanting to add wiring to my trailer hitch but really don't like the thought of paying over $200 for the official Kia part. The 2026 harness is different from earlier years and I am waiting for an aftermarket company like Curt to come out with a compatible knockoff product at half the price. Unfortunately they seem to be dragging their feet on producing a product for the 2026 Sportage. My question is does anybody know of any other compatible products that are available for this new connector design? I don't want to install a y-cable product. I am looking for something that is plug-compatible and functions the same as the Kia part# which is CHF67-AC000. Thanks!

I noticed that my Kia Sportage 2018 1.6 GDI 118000 km is consuming arround 3dl per 1000 km. Is it something I should worry and visit the mechanic or just check and pour oil in the engine?

I've got a rattle coming from my rear seat. I've checked the trunk area and everything is secure. Does anyone have advice on how to remove the rear bottom cushion on a 2024 Sportage Hybrid? Thank you in Advance.

Where is the sensor

I am installing Yakima FX towers and crossbars on my flush roof rails (2025 Sportage). Yakima instructions say to place the front crossbar just 17" back from the windshield. When I place my 16 cu ft SkyBox (6'3" long) on the crossbars it sticks out over the windshield. I am told is a poor aerodynamic position for noise, wind buffeting etc. My understanding is that the entire length of the flush bars is supportive and there is a lot of room to move the cross bars back 6" or 12" without interfering with the hatch. Also, the cargo box and crossbars are limited to 60 lbs which is well below the roof limit of the sportage.

Does anyone have any information to share concerning crossbar placement on the flush rails.

Ive replaced front and rear nozzles fronts are fine rear isnt working due to blocked pipe tried an air line from rear still blocked any ideas thanks peeps

Anybody else have the issue of the garage door app not working without the seatbelt no being buckled. It has happened twice now, once leaving, and once coming back from our mailbox.

Have 2025 - EX. I use + - to adjust map display so I can see street names.....but after 3-4 sec it reverts back. How do I 'save' the display where I want it?
