Whatever soap you choose, you want it to be pH neutral. The difficulty of matte paint is that you can’t run a polisher on it to perform a paint correction as you would on a normal clear coat. Therefore, it’s imperative IMO to apply a coating to it that will help minimize some scratches and UV damage. I realize you said you read many articles, but this link below really does a good job of presenting the fundamentals/science of matte paint in addition to pushing their product. I believe Adam’s Car Shampoo is a pH neutral soap.
Just knowing some basic do's and don'ts can mean the difference between stained, marred paint and an immaculate flat sheen.
