I'm guessing you must have to pay to get OTA updates for the 2026 Kia Sportage Hybrid. I called the dealership and they didn't know the process but told me to call Kia Customer Care. I did that and they told me it's fully automatic and downloads are seamless without me doing anything. I then found information on a Kia website that stated:
How to Update Your Kia's Software
(Kia Connect subscription required)
Does anyone know if you DON'T pay a lot of money each year for
Kia Connect Ultimate, do you get ANY OTA updates to your vehicle for free? How would I even know if an update is available for my car? I can't imagine that the service department would give me an update when I'm getting an oil change, especially since they knew nothing about OTA updates. This is very upsetting to know that updates to your vehicle continue to cost money for as long as you own the car...this just seems crazy! I was able to download map updates in my Mazda for 3 years FREE. Kia should certainly provide safety updates and updates which fix issues for FREE during the warranty. Am I crazy...or what?
