Thank you! That is what I expected. I could not think of another technology other than visualizing the lane markers via the cameras. I live on a County road, in a small town, and it has never had lines to begin with. US and state highways have lines, but they wear away as I mentioned.
My experience since buying the Sportage HEV, in May 2023, is that the tech is hit and miss. Sensors for the high beams are pretty good. Sensors for the auto wipers are hit and miss, mostly miss. I would rather that had an intermittent setting that I could manually adjust. And I have already expounded at length in another thread how bad their Nav system is.
If drivers lose the ability to reliably keep the car in their lane due to becoming dependent on technology that is questionable reliability, I wonder about the risk of me being hit head-on by someone not paying attention due to reliance on technology.
