I hope the dealer pays for any damage that extra oil may have caused. About 40 years ago, I bought a new car and immediately drove it from Florida to Arizona. Along the way, I stopped for gas (when gas stations pumped the gas for you) and I was told I was almost a quart low. I told him to put it in. I didn't get more than 8 miles when the engine made a sound and smoke started pouring out of the tailpipe. I obviously wasn't low on oil so I've always put in oil myself if it's low and ALWAYS check the dipstick at the dealership after an oil change.
