Final dead battery update! Kia scrapped the car, gave me a decent buyback offer as they are unable to figure out why the battery keeps dying. On occasion, there is a large draw on the battery which repeats every 15 minutes. Kia tech looked at it, got all the data, went to Kia HQ and spoke with the engineers. They were unable to diagnose the problem. The key point here is that Kia needs to monitor the current draw from the battery to see it.
