Hi,
So I made a video (I assume I’m not allowed to share here) on how to replace the cruise control button on my 2011 Kia Sportage, but a couple people (with 2012 and 2013 models, respectively) have commented that their steering wheel only has 2 screws (1 T40 and 1 Phillips Head Screw) on the back of theirs instead of 3 like mine (1 T40 and 2 Phillips Head Screws), and that they are not able to get the cruise control button out using the same method as mine. I have seen other year 2012 and 2013's with the same number of screws as mine (3) though, so I don't think it is because of the year. What might be the factors/options that could cause this difference? Keyless push-button start option vs. Conventional Key-Start Ignition? Telescopic Steering vs. Non-Telescopic? Steering wheel color...? Perhaps a different country's model?
If you only have 2 screws (1 T40 and 1 Phillips Head Screw) behind your steering wheel can you let me know what year, country, and options (ignition type, telescopic or not, steering wheel color) you have? See attached for picture of mine with 3 screws.
Thank you!
