This is a re-post from a post i made to KIA-forums.com that despite 81 views has not one reply-
Thank you for considering my issue-
I find videos on the 4 bangers everywhere, but i feel like we are one of the only families ever that bought a 6cyl.
Futile efforts in trying to replace the serpentine belt; spent an hour easy muttering every four letter obscenity that i never otherwise utter. Once the belt is loose the tensioner pulley arm keeps the belt from "simply" sliding off due to the design of the outboard pulley arm, and i couldn't pry enough space between the pulley and the engine to slip the belt through the little crack there. This thing is a nightmare (a little backstory - it seems every plastic piece in the car is becoming so brittle it blows apart upon contact. So far: Glovebox handle, driver's inside door handle, driver's side sun visor, outside rear door handle, overhead console fascia), but what would you expect from a car named after the accepted acronym for "Killed In Action"?
OK, so that venting helped me a little. This is my daughter's car and she really likes it. It is a 2009 and we do not have the money to simply trot off to the local repair shop (hence, 2009). Can anyone help me please?
Once again, thanks - your help is greatly appreciated.
