Sportage PHEV battery maximum life charging technique
To maximize the battery health and life of your Kia Sportage 2023 PHEV, it is generally recommended to occasionally perform a full charge-discharge cycle by draining the battery to around 5% and then charging it to 100%. This can be done on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. My battery % stays around 21% for weeks without any charging. What should I do to maximize battery health/life related to charging? I'm using trickle charging in the garage at 12 Amps.
1) Somehow drain the battery to 5%? then charge to 100%. If so, what frequency weekly/monthy?
2) Charge it anyway to 100% (frequency once a week/month?)
3) Don't bother charging it to 100% as it's auto charging during my normal driving (e.g., speed management, braking) keeps battery at ~20%
