Need a roof rack for 2023 Sportage EX with no rails
Mine doesn't. I think the 2024 has them. Thanks for the tip on the sunroof. It looks like Thule and Yakima make racks for "naked" roofs but don't list them as compatible for the Sportage.Doesn’t the EX come w/low profile rails (the rails run along both sides of roof from front to back)? Be careful w/generic cross bars if you have the pano sunroof. I use these Thule cross bars:

Yes, that sucks. I know Thule does make some for rackless cars, like the VW GTI. But doesn't seem to be one available for the Sportage. The other thing that may work for you is a hitch-based cargo carrier. W/o even a rain gutter, anything that goes on your roof is going to sit on the paint and potentially scratch it all up. May be a nice excuse to get a small trailer!?
I just want to put my Thule fishing rod/ski rack on. Not carrying any cargo. Looks like I'll have to wait and hope somebody makes one. Thanks for the suggestions.
Hi, I have the same issue with 2023 Sportage EX I just purchased. I am hoping to carry a canoe on it so it needs to be something substantial. Doesn't anyone install the roof rails to secure a rack to?
I just bought this one on Amazon I am going to try and put it on today. Looks like it was made for it but also looks like it will be a tight fit. I have a 2024 Sportage with no rails at all, not happy with the salesperson as they never mentioned it and I test drove one with rails. Why they make one without them is stupid since the rails are so low profile anyway.
