Irritating screeching noise
Doesn’t make the sound idling at all with the hood up, or reving the engine. Not doubting that could be a possibility, I know what you’re referring to, but it’s a different sound. In the past I’ve had belts making an “opera” type sound, this sounds more like a piece of metal rubbing something.
