What should the charging time be from zero to 100% in the plug in battery?Assuming it is on a dedicated circuit of 15 or more amps and the wiring is up to code (AWG 14 or heavier for 15 amps), 12 amps draw should be fine. 12 amps is only 80% of 15 amps, which is the maximum recommended continuous draw. If a 20 amp circuit, 12 amps is only 60%, well below the allowable continuous draw.
Power going through wiring will produce heat. Keeping at 80% of the maximum amperage for the circuit will not produce enough heat to be a problem.

I have a 2024 Kia Sportage PHEV X-Line Prestige. Do you know what is the maximum charging current that the car can accept? As you may know, some Level 2 chargers have 40, 32, 24 and 16 amperes output options. I am trying to figure out what is the maximum I need to set my charger. Thanks.Using a level 2 charger will only take a couple hours. Using the level 1 that comes with the car (set to 12) will take around 6 to 8 hours depending on how far down the car has utilized the battery.
