Im old enought to know when a car dry starts, and you get that couple of seconds of upper engine tap until the engine reaches the lifters. I complained about it at my last oil change (2021 Kia sportage with 21,000 miles, and the comprehensive warranty). The service writer at the kia dealership said "we use this engine cleaner, and that will go away for the rock bottom price of $250 treatment". Since i dont like the sound of metal to metal on the inside of my engines, i went with it. Guess what? It still did it. When i pointed it out, the same service writer said "huh. I guess they just do that". Has anyone else had this problem? usually oil filters have an anti-drain valve that keeps some oil in the head, to avoid such an issue. i dont know if kia OEM filters have that, or a proper one. Has anyone else run into this?
