Is UVO worth the effort and an update question

Hey, I recently purchased my first ever Kia, a 2019 Sportage Ex and wasted a couple of hours trying to set up UVO. No amount of troubleshooting links, different USB ford's, or YouTube videos would make it send data after it connected with the app. I kept getting a "no data transmitted, would you like to retry" after putting in a new pin in twice. I'm wondering if it's even worth the effort since I do like to use Android Auto and I know it's one or other but not both.
On the updates, in the past my cars have had regular software updates but there doesn't seem to be any way to update the Kia, or at least I haven't found links to legitimate updates. Should I be concerned about updates and is there anything else I need to be concerned about with my Sportage. The car only had 16K miles on it and the dealer changed the oil, wiper blades, and put new tires on it. It looks like it came off the showroom floor. Thanks
