How can I run a VIN check easily?

Hey everyone,
I’m checking out a 2020 Kia Sportage and just want to make sure everything’s good before I move forward. I’d like to do a VIN check to make sure there aren’t any red flags like accidents or title issues.
Anyone know a good way to do this, even if I don’t have the VIN yet? Appreciate any tips! Thanks!

If you have the license plate, you may be able to get it that way. I know on KBB you can use either to get the value of the car, so maybe that will give you a history or maybe the vin.

Carfax might be helpful.

I would think you would have to check with your state's BMV/title agency/tax office to check that.

I would think you would have to check with your state's BMV/title agency/tax office to check that.

If DMV if they let you change title to yourself as sole owner, you are good to go on most states.
