What's up, fellas? I go by Chuzz and am new to this forum, but NOT new to car forums. I'm a KIA enthusiast and have a 2017 Forte LX with 184,000 miles. My son just traded his 2016 Soul! in on a 2026 Sportage SX Prestige. This is an amazing vehicle with too many things for me to remember. He's a "techy" dude and knows all of the features already.

My only concern is the GDI engine. I had to do a valve/combustion chamber cleaning on it every 30,000 miles or so, but have been assured that this will not be an issue with the 2.5 GDI. I sure hope that's true. I'm also a member on a Forte forum, a Soul forum and Allpar because I used to be a Mopar guy until Stellantis got involved! That's why I switched to KIA.

This Forte has absolutely been the best new car I've ever owned and at 69 years of age, I've owned several new cars in my lifetime. I do all of my own work as I don't trust shops or dealerships to work on my stuff. I've told my son to take his ride to the dealership until the warranty runs out and after that, he can let me start changing the oil and routine maintenance and I won't charge him much.

A 12 pack of my favorite suds is usually the price. Anyway, I hope to learn some stuff from you guys and may actually have a suggestion or two that might help someone along the way.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on the brand new Sportage for your son! He got the top model. Nice upgrade from the Soul! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I hope that I really don't need the forum very often. I'm hoping this Sportage is as trouble free for him as my 2017 Forte LX has been. Regular maintenance is the key, but at 69 years of age, I'm not as enthusiastic about working on cars as I was in my younger days. That ground and concrete seem to get harder the older I get!
