How can I run a VIN check easily?

I’m checking out a 2020 Kia Sportage and just want to make sure everything’s good before I move forward. I’d like to do a VIN check to make sure there aren’t any red flags like accidents or title issues.
Anyone know a good way to do this, even if I don’t have the VIN yet? Appreciate any tips! Thanks!

If you have the license plate, you may be able to get it that way. I know on KBB you can use either to get the value of the car, so maybe that will give you a history or maybe the vin.Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a quick update in case it helps someone in a similar situation. I searched around online and found Vin Check. I was able to check the car’s history using the VIN and even found auction records with pictures. The report also mentioned a loan/lien on the car, but the seller claims it’s already cleared. Any ideas on how I can verify if it’s actually clear?
If DMV if they let you change title to yourself as sole owner, you are good to go on most states.I would think you would have to check with your state's BMV/title agency/tax office to check that.
