On my last fill up, 2023 Sportage EX HEV, I had driven 293 miles and it took 7.504 gallons to fill the tank, which I make out to be a little over 39 MPG. Mileage has noticeably improved since the weather has gotten warmer. I also have almost 9,000 miles on the car, so I expect it is largely broken in. But . . . I live in the high mountains of West Virginia so a lot of up and down hills, often steep hills, which doesn't help mileage. The car's computer said I got 39.7 MPG for the last tankful and doing the math myself, the real-world result turns out to be 39.045 MPG. About half of the 293 miles was in one day, so not as many short trips, but in that one day, I crossed over two major mountains in each direction there and back.
The computer tells me I have gotten 37.6 MPG since I picked the car up last May. I have not done the math myself to check the computer, although I have all the records.
