This is my first Hybrid plug in. Just wondering if I never use the gas and only the battery will at some point the gas go bad. How long can the gas sit in the tank. I have a level 2 in the garage and charge it nightly, we are retired and only do errands around town mostly.

Yes, if you don't use Sta-Bil gas treatment. I believe gas formulations these days only stay "fresh" for a couple of months. Probably best to only fill about a quarter tank and refill as it gets used by "normal" ICE operation for more power, heating, etc. Can also use HEV mode once in a while to make sure ICE gets exercised. And never a good thing to leave an ICE engine just sitting w/non-use. You bought a PHEV, not an EV. It's designed to use the ICE on occasion!

Modern fuel systems are more airtight than the old ones, so gas stays fresh for a very long time. Still, Sta-Bil can't hurt. But I would recommend keeping the tank FULL so you do not get water vapor that can condense in the tank and mix water with the fuel. It is a good idea to run the internal combustion engine occasionally to keep lubricants spread around and to keep seals from drying out.
