Are the turn signal and headlight sticks supposed to be lighted?

Are the turn signal and headlight sticks/stalks? "supposed" to be lighted? Everything printed on mine is/looks painted on. I have a 2024 Sportage XLine and they are not lit. What a terrible idea. Such a high tech vehicle and at night you look over and see nothing but darkness there. It's a big deal to me. It's kind of dangerous also. Never would have thought to even look during daytime test drive. To late now.

Mine (2023 EX Hybrid) do not light up, but then I never noticed it until I just went out and checked.

Turn signal location has not changed in the 60 years I have been driving. (Long ago, the headlight dimmer was always on the floor.) Gas and brake pedals are also still in the same place and are not lit. I can hit all of these without thinking about it. Muscle memory, I guess.

The status of the items on both stalks is shown on the dash, so I see nothing lost by not having the stalks lit.
