Hello,
I recently just boght the 2023 Kia Sportage.
As a driver, I prefer having complete control over my steering wheel and overall driving experience. it's much more convenient for me.
I find the lane keep assist to be quite disturbing. makes my drive feel more dangerous than safe.
I followed the guide instructions on how to disable this feature. eventually, figured out how to disable it and successfully made the adjustment.
The only problem is that the safety lane settings aren't preserved, which means I have to disable the lane keep assist again for each new drive. Is there a way to resolve this?
Thanks,
Ido

I bought my 2023 Sportage HEV at a dealer 150 miles away from home. By the time I got it home, my first priority was to disable the lane departure warnings. I found it an annoyance on the Interstate, but an absolute nuisance on narrow and often curvy WV state highways where one is never far from one of the painted lines.

If my car has capability for Lane Assist, it was not turned on.

I managed to turn lane departure warning off, permanently. No warnings, no “assists” or other unwanted features for steering. I wish I could remember how I accessed it through the various menus on the touchscreen so I could be more help. But I can assure you that it is possible to turn it all off permanently. I did it through the touchscreen menus, not a button.

Hi all, some can explain how Wayne you managed to do it?
Okay, I figured out how I did it on my 2023 Sportage Hybrid. It may be different for other models.

Start from the lower panel for the electronics, not the screen for HVAC.
On the lower panel, choose Setup.
On the touchscreen, choose Vehicle.
Choose Lane Safety.
Here, I have 3 choices:
1) Lane assist (I was previously unaware of this feature on my car.)
2) Lane Departure Warning (This was enabled when I picked up the car.)
3) Off – I chose this option and have had no problems with the warning alarms since.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2024 Sportage HEV and I turned the lane assist off after the first week. I left the warning on and haven't really noticed it since.
