Hi everyone. I am new to the KIA family. Just purchased a white 2026 SX- Prestige (FWD) 2 weeks ago in New Jersey. Everything is great so far. I just have a question about the EPB. In the manual it says that if you use the Auto Hold feature then the EPB comes on when you put the car in park. I don't use the Auto Hold and every time I put the car in park the EPB comes on. Every single time. No problem because it unlocks when I take the car out of park. Is this normal to come on all the time in Park? The manual says only if Auto Hold is on. Thanks everyone.

I believe so. My 22 EV6 used to not do this and only worked when in auto hold, but after one of the software updates, it does the same. I always use auto hold anyway, but I do believe Kia made it standard on all their vehicles a couple years ago.

Oh OK. Thanks for letting me know. They didn't update the manual I guess.

I also have a 2026 SX- Pristage but it is a hybrid. On my vehicle the EPB only comes on if I use Auto Hold. It does not come on if Auto Hold is off. This is the same way it worked in my 2019 Sorento. One difference between my now sold Sorento and the new Sportage is the Auto Hold stays in the last setting after the vehicle is turned off and back on. The Auto Hold on my Sorento had to be re engaged each time I started the vehicle. I think I prefered to have it return to off when the ignition was recycled.

Thanks for your reply. I'm still confused. I don't use auto hold and it comes on in park and off out of Park.
